Custom Roman Shades|Sew Lovely By Kelly

Dear current customers, if you check this page and don’t see your name (and you are certain that we have your fabric), and you email to ask what the status is or email back to say “I don’t see my name yet,” you will be redirected back to this same exact page. We do not have any further updates besides the information on this page. I’m sorry we aren’t able to provide even more information. Once I have new info, I post it to this page.

Important: The timeframe is NOT 8 weeks from the time your name appears on this page. The time frame is about 8-10 weeks from time of order. Once the name appears on this page, you would then follow the timing that is listed under each phase.

Thank you!

CURRENT PRODUCTION STATUS UPDATES:

Welcome to our Production Status Page! Most shops do not offer this much of a detailed status update, but we’re happy to be able to provide even more updates to our customers on this page so you can see the timing better.

TIMEFRAME

Our timeframe is normally about 8 weeks, but sometimes much faster and sometimes can be up to 10 weeks. Sometimes we are later, depending on workload and project details.

HOW TO CHECK ETA…

Begin to check status only AFTER WEEK 6 (at least 6 weeks after order was paid for)

This site is the very best way to check for updates. If you email or message in to ask for an update, you will likely receive the same information as seen on this page and we will refer you to this website for the updates.

This page is the only status update that we have. If you are certain that we have your fabric and order, please continue to check this site for your name. If you are unable to wait, and we have not cut your fabric yet, please do contact us for any refund options/or to return the fabric to you, but we are not normally able to give an exact ETA due to production being so custom and different, week to week.

If you don’t see your name yet on the list, it does NOT mean that we do not have your order in our system. You will need to check back again for your name to appear. This list changes often. Thank you for your understanding.

Why our wait is sometimes long

We have very good prices compared to most shops and a quality product, so our volume of orders is high.

We are only a team of 3 people, including Kelly, the owner. Professional seamstresses are hard to find these days, due to the sewing skill not being as common as it once was, so it is very difficult to find additional help, and we do not want to rush too much and risk a mistake.

Why your name might not be on the list:

  • It has not yet been 6-8 weeks since your order was placed (paid for)

  • We are a bit behind fulfilling many orders and it will appear on the list soon (most common reason)

  • We never received your fabric you were supposed to send to us or the fabric didn’t have your name on its label, as we instructed.

  • You sent us your fabric many weeks after your order was placed and the fabric wasn’t here in time for our seamstress pick up of the next batch of orders.

  • And Rarely, (least common reason) We do not have your order in our system (missed the Venmo/Zelle/Credit card notification)

PRODUCTION PHASES

There are 4 phases of the production process for ROMAN SHADES. Curtains, cushions, pillows, duvet covers and cornices only have one phase (sewing). The order of names listed does NOT go in any particular production order. It’s just a list of current names.

1. Kelly handed order off to seamstress- Seamstress’s workroom in NJ

2. Currently being cut/sewn- Seamstress’s workroom in N

3. Kelly’s Construction room - Kelly’s workshop in NJ

4. Boxed up/ shipped -Shipped straight from Kelly’s workroom in NJ (if placed on Etsy, you will get a notification with tracking. If placed on my website, you will get an email to let you know we are done.

WHY IS MY NAME NOT ON THE LIST???

More about our ETAS…

Why I am not able to provide EVEN more of a detailed update at times…

I have 2 seamstresses who work for me and we all share a production app, which is so fantastic! My seamstresses usually have your fabric in their workroom for a few weeks before it shows up on the list below. Once they mark the app as “in sewing/working on it” then I know I can update this page. Once in a while, my seamstresses do not update the app right away, so it may in fact be actually in sewing but she did not update the app yet. Once I find out a status update here, I update the website. Thank you for your patience.

This is NOT a list of ALL of our outstanding orders (we have hundreds outstanding, usually. This is only a list of the CURRENT and NEXT batches of orders to go into production.

REASONS WHY CUSTOM WORKROOMS CANNOT GIVE EXACT ETAS…

The reasons why a custom workroom of any sort (window treatments, bedding, furniture, cushions etc) is a little different than some other industries is that each job is very different and one single thing can possibly cause a delay. For instance, if an order is a little intricate or someone has 20 shades in their one order and they’re all huge, or we are doing a large cushion order with piping, curtains with pinch pleat and trim or wide shades with ribbon details etc. These are all handmade, so nothing is made exactly the same weekly. Every job is very different and some more detailed than others. Some fabric is harder to work with and some patterns tough to match. Sometimes we make a small mistake and have to fix it before shipping it out. Sometimes we get sick or have the flu and cannot work for a few days. We’re a small workroom and do not have a replacement if someone is ill one week. So there are a lot of reasons why week to week, we cannot give an exact ETA. If you need your shade BY a particular date, you must let us know prior to ordering so we can make a note of it or offer a rush fee option. Please be kind.. we do our best here and do not want to rush any order to risk making a mistake. We will always try to keep you in the loop via this status page and if you’re order seems to be VERY delayed, please don’t hesitate to reach out to be sure everything is alright with the order.

*Scroll to bottom to make sure your fabric is not listed on the “unclaimed fabric/no name on label.” BEGIN TO CHECK LIST AROUND WEEK 6 AFTER PAYING FOR YOUR ORDER. CHECK AS OFTEN AS YOU’D LIKE AND WAIT FOR NAME TO SHOW ON LIST.

If you have not made a payment yet, your order will not go into production. All orders need to be paid first, upfront, in order to get into the production line.

Here at Sew Lovely, we are a very small team of a seamstress, a shade constructor/shop owner, and an assistant. We currently produce about 160 shades per month, and our prices are very fair compared to some other places, therefore the longer timeframes. The timeframe is roughly 8 weeks from time of order. Some times we do get delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. The biggest delay we will encounter is if your name was not properly labelled on your fabric, as per the instructions we sent for mailing the fabric, so we may not know whose fabric it is for a while If you have a particular important date you must have the shades by, please let us know when you place the order, so we can try to see if we can make an exception and meet your deadline. We usually are not able to provide exact dates of shipping in advance due to many variables with custom production each week, but you may check back around that 8 week mark for further updates. All of fabric arrives at my house (Kelly). When my seamstress drops off the sewn orders, I then hand her off the “next up for sewing” fabrics. She sews the shades, hands them back to me and we then construct them (wood on top, hardware etc) at my home workshop. I then ship them out from my workroom in New Jersey.
